Jonathan Greenberg – CEO and founder
Jonathan Greenberg is the founder of InformYourVote.com and the creator of the Candidates Video Debate system. During the past 15 years, he funded and built five iterations of the Informing to Empower civics-enhancing platform, providing easy to compare candidate videos for dozens of local and congressional races.
From his early years helping Malcolm Forbes create the first Forbes 400 rich list in 1982, Greenberg has been an investigative financial journalist for more than a dozen of the nation’s largest publications, including the Washington Post, the New York Times, Forbes, New York and Town & Country.
Greenberg is also a solution-driven entrepreneur specializing in creating disruptive technologies and transformative narratives. He is CEO of EV Everywhere, a breakthrough technology licensing company that is developing the world’s first 5 MWh mobile battery charging station.
Greenberg was a Web 1.0 pioneer, founding Gist Communications in 1996, an Internet company that competed successfully with TV Guide Online. In 1997, Gist was one of just 14 websites in the world to be named a winner of the First Annual Webby Awards in San Francisco. At Gist, Jonathan managed a staff of 80 writers, editors, software engineers, producers and designers who built, implemented and maintained custom TV listings and daily entertainment news. Gist’s websites reached millions of viewers, on behalf of dozens of clients in three countries, including Yahoo, AOL, MSN, NBC, CBS, USA Today, CNN, Axel Springer, Hachette Lagardere and Hewlett Packard.
Greenberg is an award-winning national investigative journalist and author whose work has appeared in dozens of national publications and news shows. He was the Forbes 400 reporter scammed by Donald Trump’s “John Baron” spokesman into inclusion on the first rich list, a story he exposed in a top Washington Post news story in 2018. He also wrote an impactful Washington Post analysis of the 2024 presidential polls which appeared one day before President Biden withdrew from the race.
During the two years following the world Trade Center attacks of September 11, Greenberg served as Policy Director for the New York City Council’s Select Committee on Lower Manhattan Redevelopment, where he directed media and public policy campaigns and was the city council’s lead analyst for federal relief programs. His work resulted in more than $250 million of federal funds being re-directed to needy businesses and residents closest to the World Trace Center. He was instrumental in helping win a reversal of a federal plan to move the U.S. Customs House from its historic home of more than 200 years in Lower Manhattan to Bayonne, New Jersey
Jonathan received his B.A. in rhetoric and literature from the State University of New York at Binghamton and a Masters Studies in Law degree from Yale Law School.
